Christmas Carols in the Monmouth Community

Monmouth Community Orchestra inaugural concert in Sping 2009 ConcertThe MCO playing carols at the loggia in Monmouth 10 Dec in 2011.

The MCO is a young orchestra started Spring 2007 and yet it already has a membership of 50 plus players.   It meets every two weeks on a Friday night from 7.00 to 9.15 pm and has a regular attendance of some 35 plus musicians.    Our raison d'être is to bring orchestral and ensemble playing to as wide a community of musicians as possible providing musical instruction and encouragement at a pace suited to the level of players within the group.

Players

We are particularly looking for the following players in the Brass and String Sections:

A 3rd trombone.

A cello, a double bass and a couple of violas.

So dust off that instrument, clean out those pipes and come and join us for an evenings music making at the Monmouth Community Orchestra.

News

Jane Boswell (2nd Flute) and her husband are raising money for 2 Alzheimers Charities, by climbing 50 classic routes in the next 12 months.

They are already 27 climbs into this task and have taken some PR shots and established a "just giving" site which can be reached by clicking here for those who wish to donate to the Alzheimers Society and click for those who wish to give to the Motor Neurone Disease Assoc'n. We wish them good luck in this endeavour!
